"Looking Forward"

As someone who is rapidly approaching the magic three score years and ten, I have seen and experienced many changes in my lifetime, few of them for the better.

I have some young family members, grandsons, a nephew and great a nephew whose ages range from 4 years old to 15 years old.

They are way down on the ladder of life and have yet to experience the many joys, and I hope few sorrows that this life holds for us all.

I want them to experience all the good things that life has to offer, but looking around me, and listening to all the false promises that are being made by those ‘in power’, based on what they ‘believe’ rather than what they know, I am fearful that my wishes and dreams for my beloved young relatives may never reach fruition.

These ‘believers’ seem to be rushing us headlong into what can only be described as oblivion.

I ask, what steps have they actually taken to halt the progress of global warming? Very few, if any, and very late, and they have been well aware of the situation for many years.

What plans are there for advancing the little that has been done so far? None that I can see.

What provisions have been made for us when the seasons become so mixed up that our crops are unable to develop sufficiently to harvest? None that I am aware of.

What provisions are in place should we suffer similar weather tragedies, such as tsunamis, hurricanes and earthquakes as other countries have? Again, none.

I cannot help but wonder what provisions have been made for our so called leaders? Now, that could be a different story. Ever heard of ‘self-preservation’? You can bet your life that they have, and I do mean bet YOUR LIFE. Having seen the havoc that has been wreaked on other areas, by natural disasters, within the past year alone, it could well come to that.

May I suggest that you take a good look around you and give some thought to these things?

We need to band together and leave those in authority in no doubt that we are aware of what may well befall us in the future, and force them to ‘come clean’ on these issues and do something about them. There is nothing to be gained by hiding their heads in the sand. It is obvious that they are aware of more than they are letting us know about. They only tell us what they want us to know, when it is convenient for them and too late for us.

On a personal note, I would much prefer to end my days in a comfortable bed than as a victim of some natural disaster. How about you?
