Views on various subjects from a common sense perspective

"Enoch and the Watchers - Who were the Watchers?"

And Enoch went before the chief Lord of the Nazarenes and he did show him wonders, for Enoch was an Caulbearer and a Brother of Nazarenes. He spoke not him regarding this generation and the generations that are yet to come; and spoke they concerning The Elect One, the Force of all Life and the Earth, that is seen and known without knowing by all men.

And they did tell him of the Third to Come who was of his blood. And they did speak of the fourth and of the fifth and of the sixth, and mostly of the seventh to come before men in The Purpose.

And the chief of the Nazarenes said onto him that the Seventh would come with fire and with thundering and with a mighty power. "He shall come in a time of great fear and greater evil, and the Watchers shall quiver for fear that he might not be born and all men will die.

He shall judge all with his judgments and some will he bless and some shall he curse. His kindness shall he show to those who are worthy of it, and his disdain also to those who are worthy of it. They shall belong to him and shall prosper, and the light of his knowledge shall shine upon them. All those who are wicked towards him and towards The Way shall be destroyed before the vengeance of The Force of the Earth.

In that time the mountains shall give forth great fire and shall destroy many great places; by day and by night shall they destroy. And a great darkness shall prevail over the face of the earth except for that place where he of his blood shall stand."

And the Chief of the Nazarenes showed Enoch a tree that bore roses. And he told Enoch that he whose number shall be ten shall be more perfect than the rose in the beauty of his wisdom, and he shall walk before the rose in all things of perfection.

"I have seen the one whose number shall be ten, who belongs to the time after all time has stopped and men are no more upon the face of the earth, except for his chosen. And his head is white like the white wool of a sheep but his crown was bare. His face showed his humanity and his countenance was full of grace."

The Book of Man Vol. I

The Watchers were and are the priesthood who in later times became the Brotherhood of Nazarenes, the Revealers and were also known as the Brotherhood of Twelve and One.

The name of Watcher was applied to those of this priesthood who had been taught to understand the nature of the spirits men, both in their design and their purposes, in accordance with the knowledge acquired and retained by those initiated into that same brotherhood over many thousands of years.

They did not belong to any religious group but rather a society based on the principles of truth, knowledge, logic and reason that was and is to this day generally referred to as The Way.

The members of the brotherhood were chosen from amongst those who were born as kings by birthright, as their births were predicted in advance and because of their varied abilities to understand reality at its deepest levels i.e.non-belief.

These kings by right were known as The Elect as they were chosen by the force that governs all life as their births could be predicted and calculated upon, unlike other births. Persons born in this manner were and are referred to as Lords of the Veil, as they were born with a Caul or Veil.

Ancient prophecies foretold the coming of seven High Lords of The Veil at different times to show mankind the ways of truth, justice and knowledge and logic and above all things, reason.

These prophecies warned that if mankind failed to listen to the teachings of the seven High Lords, then he would bring about the ending of the days of man upon the earth. These prophecies are contained within the teachings of the philosophy known as The Way, and the Prophecies of Enoch are available in ebook format from our Book Shop page. This is the original text that in later times became known as The Book of Enoch but it is in fact a prophetic work and has now been rightly renamed into its original form.

The name of Enoch is often mentioned in the context of this subject as there is a historic connection to the ancient writings from Mesopotamia that were uncovered in later times. An ancient text commonly referred to as the Book of Enoch formed part of the writings available up to the times surrounding the origins of what is now referred to as Christianity, but which is in reality the altered teachings of Jesus by Saul/Paul, known to the followers of The Way as "The Liar."

This text was not deemed suitable to the new dogmas of the New Order, or New Christians, and therefore became repressed and deemed heretical. The Book of Enoch was long held to have vanished but was known of within certain circles.

In the 1700s, a member of the Scottish Bruce family brought back a number of copies of the text from North Africa, which event was hailed as a great rediscovery at that time.

However, the transaltors of the time translated the writings according to their understanding and mindset of that time and therefore tended to interpret much of its meaning according to the mores and values of that era, which was many millenia removed from the time within which it was originally recorded. This has resulted in much of the text being misinterpreted and therefore made almost meaningless as regards understanding it in its original context.

Some confusion arises when the name of Enoch is mentioned as it is often assumed that it is the same Enoch mentioned in the biblical accounts of the same name. However the Enoch that the Mesopotamian writings refer to was one of the Watchers who was also known as Murdug (and later Marduk) amongst his names. He was more correctly referred to as Enoch the Scribe in his time. This particular Enoch (the Scribe) was the descendant of another man, also known as Enoch who is also mentioned in such texts. As names often run in families, this point often leads to the confusing of names in attempts to link people together.

Enoch/Marduk's forefather, also known as Enoch, was a member of the brotherhood, as was Murdug in his time. Here is an extract from an account from those times:

After an goodly time came Murdug: and Murdug was also known as Enoch amongst his names. And he was born of the High Caul and his sign was seen in the sky for many years. And so did the Brotherhood wait until his place was marked and his time was foretold from the fullness of his sign.

And the chosen brothers rose up, and tarried they not to where his mother did abide. In these time there was much danger, for men had become to understand and fear the Caul, lest the people would follow and turn from their kings who ruled only by might.

They took his mother and sped in great secrecy to a mountain; the midwife among the three taking charge of their progress for the need of his mother's care. There upon the mountain did his mother bring him forth.

And when the Veil was lifted from his face he did glow as if the very Sun did shine itself upon him. He was born as are all High Caulbearers at the time when the ram gives way to the bull and whilst the ram is still in strength.

He was anointed king by the right of his Caul. From thence was he moved about from place to place so that he mightest stay hidden until he was grown and educated and fitting to his place.

Then the wise ones spread the word that a new High Lord walked among men, for it had been kept from them, for the kings of that place and that time were much afraid of this Caul. They did offer ransom to any who would kill him, but they killed him not, for the Brotherhood had ears and eyes in all places. The people knew of the Caul and would tear limb from limb any who might seek to do him harm. And so was his safety achieved.

In that time all men feared also the curse of the Caulbearer that would follow the blood of any who did them any harm by either word or deed: and yet did they whisper.

Murdug's brother wanted to rule all in his place, and with soothing words and many promises made onto him, he did take him his sword and try to kill Murdug. But alas he was no match, and Murdug slew him.

His brother's wife was a warrior and made many wars and slew many men, but she could not raise her hand against him in her final battle that was to be against him. And so did all that she ruled over come under his kingship by right of battle. And he took away from her all that she gave onto him. She gave, for she feared him and that which he was, for she had seen the might of it.

He was a great scholar and followed The Way and The Purpose. He did cast the priests from the temples and put many of them to death, as he would not tolerate the doctrines and beliefs of false gods. The temples became in his time places of learning and were open to all who wouldst come and join the ranks of scholars that they did create from the lowly and from the enlightenment of the ignorant.

The priests of false gods and false beliefs overcame their fear by the force of their greed which was upon them. And so did they plot against him, claiming the protection of their gods and idols.

As Murdug grew older he became careless of threats and rumours of plots. He was skilled as an astrologer and with runes and with many types of divination; yet did he take him no care.

He and his peoples lived under the rule of a twenty-eight day month and a thirteen-month year as laid down by Wodin who had gone before him in The Purpose.

He was a great builder and traveller: leaving the ruling of his kingdom oft time to his sons. He warned of many follies in his time and his prophecies came about as sure as the day followeth the night.

In his greatness he led his peoples in reason and in knowledge, using that which is fact, and turned those who would know reason from all false beliefs and false gods. He taught the teachings of The Way to all, and so did his peoples prosper and did many great things in that time.

In time of trouble people turned to him instead of the priests of beliefs, for they knew of his great wisdom. He brought an end to the prostituting of women to raise money for the priests and for the temples; saying that women should not so be used in pursuit of wealth for any purpose. And no more did women suffer this ritual, nor did their husbands suffer it longer.

Sacrifice by him was ended, as he saw this as evil, especially the sacrifice of virgins, which is an abomination to any just man.

Sodomites were once again made eunuchs of, as was the wish of many who were born in misfortune as women. Alas, those who were just perverted left the kingdom and plotted, as is their evil way. Such men are not born in unfortunate manner, but only in the evil of their perversion, of which there is choice. And so were the diseases of unnatural practice reduced.

His sword, like onto his wisdom, shone brightly in the light of pure knowledge. Murdug turned the temples into universities of learning where all could go who had a desire so to do, turning the powerful ones even more against him: for they feared their people possessing any knowledge, as it would raise them above their stations as beasts of burden and the playthings of those who knew no reason.
