The Seven Respects
- Earth
- Respect the Earth as you are of the Earth. The Earth sustains you in all your needs. Abuse it not and husband it with care.
- Water
- Respect the waters of the land and of the seas. The waters bring life to all things. Foul it not and lay it not to waste, as you will die because of such neglect.
- Air
- Respect the air and be ever aware that your well being depends upon that which you cannot see, as it is with many things.
- Light
- Respect light though it costs you nothing and like unto the cost of it, no thing can grow without it. The purity of it has no price as it has no price. Understand this.
- Plants
- Respect you all that grows upon the Earth and from the Earth, especially the green things which do not bleed as you do nor cry out in pain. You live only because of them. They stand not only between you and death; they are your link with the mother Earth.
- Beasts
- Respect the beasts of the Earth, as you too are only a beast. Forget it not. Even the smallest of that there is of them may be greater than you in its own purpose. They give you companion and lend you their beauty. They are more than just service to you. They are more than just food. They are as you are.
- Knowledge
- Respect you Knowledge, as it is the most important of all things. Without knowledge you shall understand of no thing. You shall die in the darkness for lack of it. Abuse it not for it is the key of life itself that opens all eyes and all portals and it shall show you The Way.
The Order of the Ancient Way is the only religion that can be easily accepted by any reasoning person, as you do not have to put aside common sense and reason. Ours is not so much a religion as a way of life lived religiously. Our membership cards carry the words Truth, Knowledge, Logic and Reason.
If you are a seeker of truth, if you seek knowledge, if you are a logical and reasonable person even to a small degree then you are already one of us. If you consider that mankind's continued existence on this planet is important then you should join us and contribute your own worth to the wellbeing of future generations.
Everyone has something to offer no matter how small so don't think your contribution is worthless. The World needs it.
The following verse may perhaps make you consider where the probable future of mankind lies.
False Deity
By The Way, and one Way alone
Earth's silent message to man shall be known
Waiting till death shall darken his eyes
On silent wings, his end emphasise
And in stress interpret, with knowledge lessed
Shall be guided by fear in the heaving breast
And the thunder shall roar o'er a raging sea
As man worships in vain a false deity
His world wracked with storms, the skies dark above
The Earth spills her anger from man’s lack of love
Her cries shall be heard on too good summer’s day
Unseasonable frost glint on the meadows of May
So shall silence be heard in abandoned seashells
But man shall still answer false deities’ bells
The Earth shall stand void, her waters burning like flame
But man shall still whisper false deities’ name
Though witness he death by the green of the tree,
He shall neither know reason nor shall knowledge decree
Like he with the hammer, who on marble drew,
Engraving the words of that life he knew
The believers not hearing, loud shouting, "Hail!"
As into man's coffin is firm driven each nail
Men without spirit, with mind bound in chain
Shall not hear me, nor see me, and yet shall lay blame
So I sit, and I watch, with naught I can do
As each man who cooks shall eat of this stew
